A lovely place to be…
Avoca Beach is simply a lovely place to be, and Avoca Beach Picture Theatre is set in the heart of it. Come and sit in the sun on the terrace looking out to the sea and enjoy a cappuccino or, in the cooler months a warming hot chocolate or a thick, hearty soup. Stay for an indulgent slice or a healthy muffin. Relax and enjoy yourself.
Come early for a glass of Wine…
Avoca Beach Picture Theatre is licensed and for our patrons we have a lovely selection of wines, bubblies and beers. What a lovely way to finish an outing to the Theatre!
Avoca Beach Picture Theatre loves to bring to the Coast the best in Film Festivals, which are interspersed throughout the year. Look out for Flickerfest, Indigenous Film Festival; Surf Film Festivals, Adventure FilmFfestivals and more and of course our very own Coasties Film Festival!

Avoca Beach Picture Theatre are very proud and extremely excited to have been selected as one of only 26 cinemas nationwide to screen the exceptional pilot season of NT Live, the new initiative by the UK’s most prestigious National Theatre to broadcast live performances of their best plays onto cinema screens around the world. “Through high definition broadcasts, we are able to present our productions to passionate theatre-goers all over the world and to do it really well” says Nicholas Hytner, Director of London’s National Theatre.
From Shakespeare to Terry Pratchett, live performances are top class! Click our “NT Live” button for details.
For our 60th Birthday we hung some vintage posters we had collected over the years. Some of these have remained hanging as we know how much our guests enjoy perusing them. Ranging back to the 1930’s these posters are like a walk through Movie Land, and many people bring their interstate or overseas friends to see them. Feel welcome to come and see them too!
We love to collect beautiful things for our foyer, and then so often we are asked if we would sell them! Great news, our colourful range of handmade leadlights are now available for sale. Feel free to come and browse anytime – there is always a great selection and priced to help you take one home for yourself or a very fortunate friend!
We have an extensive movie history library at the Theatre. Currently there is nowhere in the foyer to house it, and so it is available to browse by request. Great to spend a little time over!
